Last week, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) hosted its Engineering Compliance Seminar in Louisville, Kentucky, providing a forum for marine engineers and industry experts to discuss compliance standards and issues impacting boatbuilders.
Over the course of three days, seminar attendees were presented with information on more than 30 recreational marine standards and engaged with presentations on topics such as Exporting to Canada, CE/ISO Certification, Record Retention Guidelines, Federal Regulation Review, and Environmental Initiatives.
The 11th edition of Sail America's Industry Conference (SAIC), a three-day event specifically geared toward sailing industry professionals, will take place at the Annapolis Yacht Club, April 22-24. Held annually, SAIC will host speakers, industry leaders and colleagues. Attendees will learn about new topics and trends and receive industry updates. The conference features a regatta, and a day and a half of educational sessions, and industry networking events including a reception and raffle.
Registration is now open for the BoatUS Foundation's "Turning the Tide Online" virtual summit, scheduled for February 25-27, with a focus on seeking and sharing responsible and sustainable disposal practices of boating-related waste. Early bird pricing of $50 for general admission, $25 for nonprofit and government employees, and $5 for students, is available to attendees who sign up before December 31.
Overseas, boot Düsseldorf 2025, the world's biggest yachting and water sports trade fair, is "in the starting blocks" and for the sailing yacht segment we can look forward to various global and national launches in exhibition halls 15 and 16. From January 18-26 boot Düsseldorf will give special attention to the always highly anticipated shipyards' showcase. The models featured here reflect the diversity of interests and motivations of their prospective buyers: minimalist daysailers are on display as are ocean-going bluewater yachts or smart performance cruisers.
Freedom Boat Club Delaware, part of one of the largest boat club communities in the US, has teamed up with Savvy Navvy to bring easier and safer navigation to more boaters. Here they reflect on how it has helped their boat club members. Freedom Boat Club's independently owned and operated Franchise locations in Delaware, South Jersey, Lower Hudson Valley NY, Maryland and Washington DC, and comprises one of the largest boat club communities in the US, with more than 2000 memberships and over 250 boats in over 27 locations.
