On the afternoon of December 3, while the Sodebo Ultim 3 trimaran was heading towards the equator, the crew of which Fred Denis was a member noticed the loss of its central rudder flush with the hull.

Although investigations are still continuing on board to determine the nature of this damage, the seven sailors are currently making their own way to Lorient La Base in order to assess the damage and undertake repairs with the technical team of the Sodebo team.

Once the boat is ready, the crew, led by skipper Thomas Coville, will then be able to consider going on stand-by once again and hope for a second departure before the end of January.
