Burton Sailing Club in conjunction with the National Schools Sailing Association (NSSA) are proud to be hosting the Single-Handed Team Racing event again at the very FULL Foremark reservoir.
This event is returning to Burton where it was successfully hosted in 2022 with low water levels and where 22 teams participated. This year we are hoping for even more team participation. This is a great event where the Topper boats are supplied by the organizing authorities and teams just need to register and sail, what could be simpler?
For more information see the Notice of Race and entry form that can be downloaded at events.ksail.co.uk/EventDetailsView/25
Sailing Instructions will be released in due course.
Team racing is an exciting and sociable sailing format in which a team of sailors work together to try and establish an overall winning combination for their team over their opposition.
Team races are fast, furious and reward good starting, boat speed, boat handling, rules knowledge and teamwork skills.
One race typically lasts for about ten minutes, but each team gets to do multiple races during the weekend.
Racing Starts early on Saturday morning with the round robin series and continues on Sunday morning with the knockout rounds to determine the Overall Championship Team.
Accommodation - plenty of hotels in the local area (Derby or East Midland Airport).
Catering - will be available on both Saturday and Sunday, with a weekend meal deal being the preferable option. Every effort will be made to accommodate dietary needs but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
