GCCM Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race - Day 2 update

Race status update:

  • Due to increased offshore wind and boat speed, Line Honours contender Wild Thing 100 is now expected to arrive in Mackay after 8pm tonight. Currently racing at 16knt speed having just passed Cheviot Island, NE of Broad Sound Islands National Park.
  • 'Top Gun' due in later tonight.
  • Race Village at Mackay Marina is opening early for their arrival.
  • Retirees:
    • Hutchies Yeah Baby due to rig damage, returned to GC, all crew safe and home.
    • Clockwork due to rudder damage, returned to GC with SYC assistance, all crew safe and home.
    • Mayfair due to a safety issue, all crew safe, returned to Brisbane.
