Yesterday, Saturday September 3rd, two races were scheduled. Unfortunately, the wind conditions meant that only one race could be run before 3pm. As explained in the previous press release, no start could be made after this time.

According to the race instructions the first warning signal marking the scheduled start was given at 11:00 am. No delay was observed and the wind stabilized at 5.5 knots for most of the race. The end of the race took place with optimal weather conditions but with constantly decreasing wind conditions.

The finish was even reduced to the wind. With these wind conditions, it was impossible to continue sailing. After this race (12:05), all the racers were called back to the beach while keeping an eye on the flag that could be raised at any time by the safety boat located 15 meters from the beach.

In the end, the wind did not pick up until 3pm, not allowing the skippers to race within the time limit decided by the president of the race committee.

This race saw the Greek boat GRE 11 win again, consolidating its first place in the general ranking. The Austrian boat AUT 995 of Angelika KOHLENDORFER associated with Calvin CLAUS and the Czech boat skippered by Michaela PAVLISOVA and Marek PAVLIS respectively complete the podium of this race.

At 5:18 pm, the prize-giving ceremony of this world championship took place, followed by the closing ceremony, for which all the officials were invited. The president of the race committee, of the tornado class, of the departmental committee, a representative of the Occitanie league as well as the deputy mayor made a speech to thank all the volunteers, racers and members of the organization.

In the general ranking and without any big surprise, the Greek boat GRE 11 of Kostantinos TRIGONIS and Konstantinos KATZANTIS won the first place, followed by the French boat FRA 2 helmed by Yoann TRECUL and Thomas FERRAND for the silver medal. Finally, the Australian boat AUS 3 skippered by Brett BURVIL and Kirsikka RAISANEN took the last step of the podium.

In the Youth ranking, the Austrian boat AUT 995 skippered by Angelika KOHLENDORFER and Calvin CLAUS won.

Finally, the Australian boat AUS 3 of Brett BURVIL and Kirsikka RAISANEN won the mixed championship.
