5-6 April 2014
Guido Miani's Monaco Racing Fleet has successfully won the first act of the Audi Melges 20 - Audi Tron Sailing Series. Although the weather was unstable, it still allowed for the completion of two races, both raced in a tricky grecale wind.
Miani, together with the same team that collected the European title in 2011 - tactician Gabriele Benussi and trimmer Nevio Sabadin – has concluded the final day with equal points as Achille Onorato's Mascalzone Latino Jr. and the two-time Olympic winner Malcom Page, thus winning the tie breaker.
Third place on the podium goes to European Champion Giancarlo Capolino on Legionario with tactician Francesco Ivaldi.
Now that this Naples act is complete, the Audi Melges 20 fleet looks forward to gathering next in Porto Ercole, Italy. Racing takes place on 10 -11 May where a higher number of participants is expected.
