A happy ending with NW fresh breeze for the second event of Yacht Club Isole di Toscana racing season. Dario Lev'is Fremito D'Arja gets the 1st place among Melges 20 and Mario Aquila's Vanité XXS leads the Melges 14.
Three days of wind of varying intensity and directions (with gusts of up to 25 knots on Saturday 9 April) allowed the disputing of eight very tricky races tactics-wise, allowing the values in the race to emerge.
Among the Melges 20 fleet, the Tuscany Grand Prix goes to the holder of the Melges World League 2021, Dario Levi's Fremito d'Arja (with Stefano Cherin calling tactics), who gets the title one race ahead with mind-boggling partials (2-1-2-1 -1-1-1-DNC).
The Monegasques of Nika (Vladimir Prosikhin) follow with twelve points behind, leaving the compatriots Raya (Matteo Marenghi Vaselli) on the lowest step of the podium, further to getting a bullet in the last race.
The Melges 14 class also made its seasonal debut in the Melges World League, with the dispute of four races. The victory goes to Mario Aquila, despite an OCS in the third race, followed by Giampiero Poggi and Luca Antonini.
Carlo Giuliano Tosi and Riccardo Incerti presided over the two Race Committees, while the Umpiring team was chaired by Bruno Ampola.
Just a couple of weeks and the season will proceed with the Swan Tuscany Challenge from 26 to 30, kicking off The Nations League circuit, which for the fourth consecutive time has chosen the waters of this wonderful gulf of Maremma. ClubSwan 50 and ClubSwan 36 classes will attend.
