Ida Lewis Distance Race 2025 calendar announcement

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2025, the Ida Lewis Distance Race is a 24-hour offshore race with tight competition among various classes. It starts Friday, August 15 and features a choice of courses (to be determined by the Race Committee) that cover some of the most storied and beautiful sailing grounds in New England, if not the world.

With a start off Fort Adams in Narragansett Bay, the race features a signature champagne finish inside Newport Harbor off the historic Ida Lewis Yacht Club.

Classes are for boats 28 feet or longer and include ORC, PHRF, and PHRF Double-Handed. The race also Includes Youth and Collegiate Challenge categories.
