Marine technology company Savvy Navvy has been recognised for its innovative retailer program, winning the prestigious Neptune Award at the Marine Marketers of America (MMA) ceremony held this week at Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show.

Savvy Navvy's team collected the 'Best New Product Launch' category award at this year's Neptune Awards in front of more than 250 prominent industry professionals on Wednesday (February 12) at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens.

The award recognises Savvy Navvy's growing global distributor network further increasing Savvy Navvy's users. Launched last year, physical scratch cards for digital Savvy Navvy subscriptions are sold through an international network of distributors. The award recognised the innovation of bridging the gap between traditional marine retail and modern digital innovation.

"Savvy Navvy continues to be on a mission to make boating more accessible and safe for everyone. By combining a physical retail model with state-of-the-art digital navigation, we have expanded our global reach and empowered dealers to connect with new audiences and made boating more accessible. Since launching, we have distributors in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, USA, the Netherlands and Finland. This programme continues to grow and is just the beginning of how Savvy Navvy is transforming the boating experience worldwide. We are thrilled for our efforts to be recognised by the industry with this prestigious Neptune Award," said Alex Ostler, Chief Marketing Officer at Savvy Navvy during the Neptune Awards ceremony.

Running for its tenth year by the MMA, the Neptune Awards celebrate and reward outstanding marketing efforts in the marine industry. An esteemed committee of 80 marine leaders judged entries across 22 different categories.

"Congratulations to Savvy Navvy for their exceptional achievement in the 2024 Neptune Awards. Their success underscores a commitment to innovation and excellence. We applaud Savvy Navvy for their global retailer program, enabling boating to be more accessible around the world. We applaud their hard work, creativity and dedication for digital navigation," said Victor Gonzalez, Awards Chair, MMA.

Savvy Navvy's influencer campaign, run last year by VizSense, also won the 'Best Marketing Collaboration' category for its innovative influencer campaign, which highlighted user satisfaction of the navigation app. A third acknowledgement for Savvy Navvy was as runner up in the 'Best Social Media Campaign' category.

Savvy Navvy, often referred to as 'Google maps for boats', has had over two million downloads globally. The revolutionary, easy-to-use app brings everything leisure boaters and anglers need for a seamless boating experience. Unlike any other boating navigation solution, Savvy Navvy provides smart routing — giving users the optimal route and dynamic ETAs based on real-time data: departure time, chart information, weather conditions, tide, boat specifications and local regulations.

The Neptune Award win comes the same week as Savvy Navvy launched its partnership with Avikus, HD Hyundai's autonomous navigation technology developer, at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show.

There are still some Savvy Navvy distributor openings around the globe - anyone interested can contact Savvy Navvy's Global Sales Manager Jacco Willemsen on jacco@savvy-navvy.com or visit www.savvy-navvy.com
