Entries are open for the latest edition of the British Keelboat League with the first event of the year taking place 25-26 January 2025 at London's Queen Mary Reservoir.

Hosted by the Royal Thames YC, teams of sailors representing their club, class, university or group of friends are invited to #rockupandrace in the club's Sonar fleet for an exciting weekend of fast-turnaround short course competition.

The top three teams from each event will be invited to the British Keelboat League (BKL) grand final in Cowes at the end of the season and from there could win a place to compete in the European SAILING Champions League.

Visit the official noticeboard and enter now for the Royal Thames YC qualifier.

BKL organiser Peter Ward said: "We're really looking forward to another great year for the British Keelboat League and to welcoming both regular teams and new faces to the circuit.

"The popular BKL format of sprint racing makes every single event a hugely enjoyable weekend with lots of action on the water and a brilliant social scene as teams share time and tactics aboard the support boats and on shore. If you've never tried it before, give it a go!

"The boats can be handled by any good dinghy racer and are provided at each venue so teams can #rockupandrace with no towing required - all you have to do is simply turn up with your sailing kit and your friends to be guaranteed a great weekend of sailing."

This year's BKL has started earlier than usual to include more events in the winter months as well as the main season to allow those with busy summer schedules to participate and also to encourage more university teams to take part.
