The much anticipated 36th edition of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) is on track to showcase the most spectacular vessels and marine products available in Australia during one of the boating world's most popular weeks.

Exhibitor applications are now open, with a priority window available for returning exhibitors to secure preferred spaces. The Southern Hemisphere's largest and favourite marine lifestyle showcase is set to take place from 22nd to 25th May. "We are looking forward to an even bigger and better show building on the success of the 2024 event," said Mulpha Events General Manager Johan Hasser. "We have already received an exceptional level of interest from exhibitors eager to participate."

In Europe, boot 2025 will have 17 exhibition halls full of boats, yachts, diving and surfing equipment and destinations from all over the world. When boot Düsseldorf opens its doors for nine days on 18 January, it will once again showcase the 'crème de la crème' of the water sports industry. Above all, the enormous range of yachts and boats is the asset with which the trade fair will clearly outperform its competitors again in the coming year.

Mark your diaries for the Auckland Boat Show - 6th to 9th March. Set in the heart of the City of Sails - at the Viaduct Events Centre and in Jellicoe Harbour - New Zealand's biggest boat show showcases more than 200 domestic and international marine businesses, including dozens of vessel manufacturers and boat brokers.

Now is the time to have your say on the BIA's National Recreational Boating Survey which aims to help reveal a more complete picture of recreational boating activity and behaviour across Australia. BIA is of the view that boating matters economically and socially, and this project will help demonstrate that to stakeholders including governments at every level. The survey takes minutes to complete and no identifiable information will be collected.

On the evening of 24th October, the Group Beneteau dealer in French Polynesia Sail Tahiti hosted a celebratory event at Musée de Tahiti et des îles, to commemorate Beneteau's 140th anniversary with sailor friends, partners and clients. After a private tour of the museum, guests were ushered into the conference hall where the founder of Sail Tahiti David Allouch shared Beneteau's long and proud history to the audience, as well as its commitment to innovation, sustainability and improved customer experience to shape future boating. This was followed by a lecture on Ancestral Polynesian navigation techniques.

The Yacht Sales Co. and the Fountaine Pajot Group have announced a joint venture in a significant move that will see the two leading companies expand their presence in the Asia Pacific region. In late October, the Fountaine Pajot Group finalised its acquisition of a majority stake in The Yacht Sales Co. with the development representing exciting prospects for the companies. Encompassing Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans, Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts and Dufour Yachts, the Fountaine Pajot Group is the world's leading manufacturer of cruising yachts and catamarans. The French-based Group recorded sales of €350 million for the 2023/2024 financial year, representing a 26.9% growth on the previous year.

Bar Crusher Boats dealer network expands: The NSW dealer network has expanded with the appointment of three new dealerships. South Coast Suzuki Marine (Albion Park Rail), Webbe Marine (Kirrawee) and Terrace Boating (Heatherbrae) have recently come onboard to broaden access to our premium fishing boat range. The new dealerships join North Coast Boating Centre (on the Coffs Coast) and our long-term NSW dealer Blakes Marine (in northwest Sydney).

And not forgetting the past. South Pacific II, the 75-foot timber motor yacht built by Norman R. Wright & Sons and launched in 1962 as "Beryl May", returned to the boat builder's Brisbane headquarters in early 2023 for 18 months of upgrades and refurbishments for its new owner. South Pacific II is considered one of the standout vessels from Norman R. Wright & Sons over their 115-year history. With a team of naval architects, boat builders and apprentices on their team, the family-owned business continues to operate as specialists in wooden boat building, while embracing the latest techniques, materials and technology in construction.
