X-Yachts Australia & New Zealand Managing Director - Kevin Wallis reflects on his experience after visiting the ORC European Championships in Finland last month.

"I was very impressed to see the results of the ORC European Championships in Finland. The event organization was excellent, and the level of racing was outstanding. Mariehamn, in the heart of the Åland Islands, offers a perfect blend of stunning natural beauty, rich maritime history, and world-class sailing conditions.

The X-41 took gold and silver (and an incredible 6 out of the top 10) in Class B, and we are very happy that our brand did so well. However, I must say that these great results make us look even more forward to next year's World Championships in Tallinn, with even fiercer competition. The new XR 41 will be quite a bit faster than the X-41, with 100% focus on ORC optimization.

I can also assure all ORC racers that the XR 41 will be much more fun to sail, not least downwind, where it will be flying compared to the championship-winning X-41.", said Wallis.

The first XR41 will be in the water at the end of December 2024.
