The International Musto Skiff Class Association and Australian Musto Skiff Class Association have confirmed that their 2025 World Championships will take place from January 2nd to 10th, 2025, at Woollahra Sailing Club in Sydney, Australia.

The regatta will include a two-day pre-Worlds for practice races, which will also double up as the 2025 Australian National Titles, followed by five days of Championship racing on the impressive Sydney Harbour.

The ACO 14th Musto Skiff World Championships 2025, which will be sponsored by ACO, is set to attract sailors representing Australia, South Africa, the USA, the UK, and several countries across Europe. It is a prime opportunity for big fleet racing at a top-class sailing venue, and Woollahra Sailing Club is one of the most impressive dinghy clubs in Australia.

Like last year's World Championship at Lake Garda, the event week in Sydney will be shared with the B14 class, who will also be competing in their Australian National Titles and World Championships.

Commenting on the regatta, Woollahra Sailing Club's Sailing Manager, Dan Smith, said: "Woollahra Sailing Club looks forward to welcoming international and national sailors and guests to the ACO 14th Musto Skiff World Championship 2025. Sailing on Sydney Harbour in the summer NE Seabreeze's is truly impressive, and sailors can look forward to quality racing and an enjoyable regatta.

Woollahra Sailing Club has over 60 years of history as a pure dinghy sailing club. Overlooking the picturesque Rose Bay, sailors will enjoy some of Sydney's best views and dinghy sailing facilities in Australia. The Club is well known to the wider sailing community as an outstanding host of regattas and prestige events over many years, with our club playing host to numerous state, national, and world championships."

How to enter the Musto Skiff 2025 Worlds in Sydney

Entry for the ACO 14th Musto Skiff World Championships 2025 is now open and available via the Woollahra Sailing Club website regatta page here.

Early entry is available up to August 1, 2024, at $750 (AUD) per boat. The standard entry fee will then apply from August 1, 2024. To support youth sailors, competitors who are aged 25 and under on January 1, 2025, will receive a 50% discount on entry fees.

The entry fee includes full participation in the Musto Skiff World Championships, including the practice race day / 2025 Australian National Titles, a ticket to all the organised social dinners, after sailing snacks, and an exclusive event t-shirt provided by the class Title Sponsor, Musto. In addition to awards for the winning categories, there will also be a wide range of prizes, including the latest clothing and dinghy kit by Musto.

Full details on entry and fees can be found in the event NoR on the sailing club regatta page.

Getting boats out to Australia

The International Committee has been looking at options to help class members transport boats by container from Europe to Sydney for the event week. Plans are now moving forward, but to get an idea of potential boats for each container, class members have been asked to commit to the event before July 20, 2024, with a deposit to guarantee a place for their boat in the container. This option will be available to all class members in the UK and Europe.

Container loading locations will likely be at a South Coast UK location, but other locations in the UK (North) and/or continental Europe may be possible if there is sufficient demand in each location. Places will be limited and on a first come basis.

As an added incentive, if class members pay their container deposit before July 20, 2024, they will receive a £100 discount on the final shipping cost. This discount will be funded by the International Class.

More information about containers and how to book a place for your boat can be found here
