We Are Foiling is proud to carry on the tradition of dedicating every edition of the Foiling Week to a relevant Social Theme. 2024 will be inspired to YOUTH sailing and many projects and initiatives have been set (and will be) to support it all year long.

From June 24th to 30th, the racing show will be granted by six of the hottest classes at the moment: WASZP, Moth, ETF26, Switch One Design, Birdyfish and X-15 wingfoilers, able to gather in Malcesine more than 500 sailors from all over the world. On June 28th an epic Downwind Race, open to any foiling board with any propulsion except motors and organized in collaboration with Circolo Surf Segnana, will be run from Arco to Malcesine in the morning and back to Arco in the afternoon.

Once again Foiling Week will be organized with the support of the Municipality of Malcesine and hosted by Fraglia Vela Malcesine, a Club that has in its DNA the creation of regattas of excellence. The Foiling Week village at FVM will be open to the public during the event.

2024 edition of the Foiling SuMoth Challenge records the participation of 11 University Teams, contesting to design and build the best performing and at the same time sustainable Moth.

Kicking off this year is what promises to be an important collaboration with Boero YachtCoatings. The leading brand of paint solutions for yacht and superyacht protection and maintenance is joining Foiling Week as Official Technical Partner. Featuring a special area dedicated to boat repairs, called Boero Technical Area, a brand’s technician will be assisting Foiling Week participants with necessary touch-ups between the various races with Durepox products, specially designed for these operations. The brand’s participation confirms its commitment to supporting and promoting the highest standards of excellence in the sailing industry. To celebrate this, Boero will also promote a contest for all participants who share on Instagram an original photo of their boats with the Foiling Week / Boero sticker on the bow, with the hashtag #BoeroOnYourBoat, having the chance to win a limited edition of SLAM + Boero YachtCoatings clothing.

Another relevant partnership has been defined with ROCKWOOL as Official Impact Partner of Foiling Week 2024. Jonno Turner, ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP Team Director declared: "ROCKWOOL is excited to partner with Foiling Week ahead of what promises to be an action-packed and engaging event, bringing a diverse mix of Europe's young foiling talent together for a celebration of sport, sustainability and technology. As the first ever Impact Partner to the event, ROCKWOOL will help to raise awareness around the values which have propelled the ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP Team to become SailGP Impact League Champions and our SailGP athletes will be on hand to engage and inspire the competitors."

Not only racing at Foiling Week, this year's program is in fact particularly rich in collateral initiatives of a technical, educational, environmental and entertainment nature.

The public of foiling enthusiasts will have the chance to trial: Switch One Design, Birdyfish, Armstrong Boards and Jetcycle Max (an exhibition Jetcycle race is set on June 29th), advised by expert instructors. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sail on board an original Azorean (former) Whaler as part of the YOUTH program, supporting young sailors of the Azores Islands.

The trials program is powered with the collaboration of HiNelson. It is possible to book trials by consulting the dedicated section on the HiNelson website - www.hinelson.com/blog/foiling-week-2024-trials - and Foiling Week website - www.foilingweek.com/trials-2

From June 24th to 28th, We Are Foiling and Magenta Project Board Member Senior Coach Omer Brand will coordinate The Magenta Project Clinic 2024 and The Foiling Week YOUTH Clinic 2024, as well as World Sailing Clinic “Steering The Course” for female coaches, set for the last two days of the week with the collaboration of Katja Salskov-Iversen member of the ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP Team. On June 25th in the morning, foiling industry professionals will meet for an overview of the 2024 Foiling Technology Pavilion (Amsterdam, November 19 to 21) managed by The Foiling Organization and METSTRADE. Luigi Maffioli and Master Splicer Davide Fuzzi will lead Gottifredi Maffioli Splicing Workshops for participants on June 26th. Same day for the Coaching Moths Clinic of Nicolai Jacobsen. On the 27th, three times World Champion Olivia Piana will hold a one-day foiling SUP Clinic at Circolo Surf Segnana. A Sustainability Panel scheduled on June 28th will see the participation of many important speakers representing: World Sailing, Rockwool, Recarbon, NLComp, The Magenta Project, Foiling SuMoth Challenge, BioDesign Foundation, Terra Baleeira, The Foiling Organization.

The entertainment side of the program is as rich and intense as usual. Foiling Week guests and participants will have the opportunity to enjoy Persico Marine dinner for SuMoth Teams, SLAM DJ Session, Downwind Race Secumar Beerparty, Cheese and Wine Tasting offered by Azorean Terra Baleeira, The Magenta Project Evening, Biodesign Foundation DJ Experience and the traditional dinner offered to all participants by Fraglia Vela & Comune di Malcesine.

Programs details and references are available together with booking forms on Foiling Week website at: www.foilingweek.com

Foiling Week is a World Sailing Special Event, something like what “Grand Slam” tournaments represent for tennis. Held in Europe for the eleventh time, in 2025 the event will make its North American debut from February 24th to March 2nd as “Foiling Week Pensacola” (Florida, USA), organized by We Are Foiling with the collaboration of Sail Pensacola. A seven-day festival with regattas, shows and debates on the future of nautical mobility that will mark a significant moment for the Continental Foiling Community.

Foiling Week owes its realization to the support of some far-sighted companies such as: SLAM | ROCKWOOL | VAKAROS | BOERO YACHTCOATINGS | HINELSON | GOTTIFREDI MAFFIOLI | GARMIN | PERSICO MARINE | SECUMAR | RECARBON | NLCOMP | GAC PINDAR | 11th HOUR RACING | BCOMP | MARINESHIFT360 | SUSTAINABLE MARINE ALLIANCE
