I am excited to share that, as of today, 337 boats have entered this historic race! With 51 days until the start, I have a few items to share with you.

Entry deadline

The entry deadline for the Race is Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1700 hours. The Late Entry Deadline is Friday, June 7, 2024, at 1700 hours; however, a $500.00 (US funds) late fee will be applied to any entries completed after June 1, 2024, at 1700 hours.

Please note that all of the following must be submitted in order for an entry to be considered completed (see Notice and Conditions of Race Section 7):

  • Completed Entry Form;
  • Entry Fee Payment;
  • Preliminary Crew List (each crew member must have a unique email);
  • Completed Race Tracking Application; and,
  • For those choosing to compete for the Main Sheet Trophy (Corinthian Class Winners), the designation of their entire crew as World Sailing Group 1 (Amateur) sailors.

If you have not completed the entry process, please do so promptly.

ORC certificate due date

Just to ensure you know, June 1st is not the deadline to input your ORC reference number but rather the date you need to submit all the required information to US Sailing so they can complete your certificate. Once US Sailing has all the required data, they will issue certificates as they are completed. You do not need to check the status with them. US Sailing is doing its best to complete rating certificates promptly. If you are experiencing any challenges in submitting your data, please get in touch with me at .

When you get your 2024 ORC certificate, please log on to the Bayview Mackinac Race website, www.bycmack.com, owner portal, and update your boat information with the 2024 ORC reference number at the bottom left side of each certificate page. It consists of 10 alphanumeric characters. Example: 045600023TT

Suppose you plan to sail the BYCMACK with a different configuration (sails/crew weight) than the configuration you compete with in races prior to July 20. In that case, you must submit your BYCMACK configuration to US Sailing on or before June 15th and receive a test certificate. If the configuration for a test certificate is not submitted by June 15th, the race committee will use the initial certificate details, and a boat must sail under that configuration. Sailing configurations submitted to US Sailing for the BYCMACK after June 15th will not be accepted.

Harbor Preference

To indicate your harbor preference, please log in to your owner's record on the official website, www.bycmack.com, and first indicate whether you require dockage. Then, select your first, second, and third dockage choices if you do. We will do our best to provide dockage based on your preference. Once your selection has been made, it cannot be changed. Remember that harbor assignments are made in the order in which the entry payment was received.

Finish Line Sound Signal/Cell Phone Provider

The boat owner will receive a text upon finishing. This will not be used for official scoring purposes, nor does it change the provision for requiring a photo of the boat's GPS showing the time and location demonstrating compliance with crossing the finish in the Sailing Instructions.

To receive a text, please access your owner's record page and click "Update Entry Profile." Next to "Mobile Phone," you will see a new box to select your "Mobile Carrier."
