2023 iQFoil International Games Torbole - Day 4

by Elena Giolai 15 Oct 2023 07:12 NZDT 10-15 October 2023

After four course races, a marathon, and six slaloms, the medal series of the iQFoil International Games organised by the Circolo Surf Torbole, on the Garda Trentino, by delegation of the Italian Sailing Federation, will be held on Sunday 15 October, starting at 8:30 am.

Saturday was a windless day and practically nothing was done despite attempts, gone in vain, to race, while Friday was an intense day, with sprint slalom races both in the morning and in the afternoon with a southerly wind and a balance of a further 4 slaloms in total for the day (2+2).

Among the males medal in the pocket (colour to be decided) for the first classified in the general classification, the Turkish Onur Cavit Biriz, in the lead since day one. The other 9, including the Italian and Circolo Surf Torbnole athlete Jacopo Renna, will have to face the eliminations to reach the final and play for the podium. In the women's final as first in the overall ranking is Germany's Elisa Engelmann, who has strung together five consecutive victories in the last slalom.
