The first day of Helly Hansen Chester Race began light on wind but ended with some dramatic finishes on course.

Pat Nelder, On-water Chair of Chester Race Week, commented, "Everyone was excited to get the number of races in that we had hoped for. Despite the slow start and lack of wind, the breeze picked up, resulting in an incredibly successful day of racing."

She adds, "The majestic presence of the Bluenose II set the tone for what's certain to be a fabulous Race Week. "

Notable classes include the ever-growing Bluenose Class and an impressive 14 participants in the Pursuit racing.
