American Spring to Offshore

Oakcliff staff and supporters jumped onto two of our Turbo Farr 40s, "Blue" and "Black" and made the trip over to American Yacht Club in Rye, NY.
There, 76 teams gathered to shake the rust off and enjoy three days of great racing and festivities. For the first year, Friday afternoon boasted a distance course, while the rest of the weekend consisted of 5 'around the buoy' races. We used Friday morning to deliver the boats over to AYC and then commuted by Hyfoil and Lobster Boats, so everyone had the option to socialize and network. AYC did a nice job revamping the regatta.
The Oakcliff teams also did a nice job of chasing each other around the race course, improving with every leg and actually finished overlapped on the last race of the regatta. Becca Hassel took some great photos of the ORC fleet that can be viewed here.
The Farr 40s get two weeks off to switch into offshore mode and will be back in action during the Block Island Race, Annapolis to Newport, NYYC Annual and more! There are a few spots left for those interested.
