This year the Supernova Class visit Paignton for their three-day nationals on June 30th, July 1st, July 2nd. Entry is now open.

One of the largest single-handed nationals fleets the UK racing scene has to offer, the event has regularly attracted over 100 entries - several reasons have led to such excellent support for our events.

  • The fleet are a fabulous crowd to mix with: advice & support is always on offer from those who have been in the class, know the ropes, understand how to get the boat going quick. Our buddy system shares this knowledge too where Gold sailors are spread around the boatpark to assist the fleet's development.

  • The destinations the class choose to go to are always excellent locations for both sailing and socialising. Paignton was last visited in 2019, great memories of that event has already got the entry list trucking along. It's open to the prevailing South westerlies, but somewhat protected from the real swell by the Brixham headland. This year could be another cracker

  • The Boat - the modern Supernova is one hell of a piece of kit. A relatively light hull at 50kg that is so stable and forgiving; a well proportioned, fully battened sail plan; a rig that can be powered up in those lulls, and fully raked and depowered in a breeze. The more you tweak the controls, the faster it flies.
So what's next - if those three days of racing on the 'Riviera' sound like your thing - go and convince your Supernova sailors down your club that they shouldn't go but that you'd like to borrow their boat to give it a try!! Be careful though, you might not want to give it back.

Visit the Supernova Nationals website at www.supernovadinghy.org/nationals-2023.

Entry is £120. The more entries we get increases our Sponsorship support from Hartley Boats, which in turn means more for you.

Deadline for your entry is May 31st - but the sooner the better to help us to plan.

Join us. Be one many.
