The YCCA du Crouesty hosted the French J/80 National Championship from November 10th to 13th, 2022 for a fleet of forty-three J/80 teams from across France.

As the last event of the season, it was meaningful for those pursuing the top of the leaderboard in the season-long French J/80 Cup. The regattas sailed so far included GPEN, Normandy Cup, European St-Cast, and Atlantique Télégramme Lorient.

Going into the final big regatta of the season, the overall French J/80 Cup had been dominated by Simon Moriceau's APCC team, PL Yachting-Armen Habitat. In the end, their solid results in the finale to take the silver were good enough for them to raise the French J/80 Cup as the overall 2022 season champion. His team included Elliot Le Dem, Damien Fleury Lucas Rual, and Titouan Le Dem.

Winning the French J/80 Nationals was Pierre Laouenan's Elite Ecole Navale. Their dominating performance over the top French J/80 crews was, quite simply, astonishing. Their worst race was a second, and it was their discard in the nine-race series! After opening with a 2-1-1 the first day, they closed the regatta with a second and five straight firsts! WOWOWOW! Laouenan's team included Pierre Loic Berthet, Christian Ponthieu, Jean Quevveau, and Sophie Faguet.

Rounding out the podium with the bronze medal was Patrick Bot's Ecole Navale de Locaponton team which consisted of Frederic Hauville, Nedeleig Bigi, and Pierre Noesmoen. They posted a respectable tally of 12-3-3-4-8-5-9-3-8 for 43 pts net.

Rounding out the top five was Frank Lavenant's SNBSM La Trinquette in fourth place, with Jean Baptiste Bernard's Telesto Ecole Navale in fifth place.

Youth U-25 Division Season

Among the Youth Under-25 Division, Frank Lavenant's FRA 1280- SNBSM La Trinquette team was unbeatable, taking a fourth in the J/80 Nationals to complete their dominance of the youth division. Lavenant's mixed crew of men & women consisted of Pia Mathias, Quentin Abeille, Maxime Laroque, and Simon Proust.

Masters Division Season

In the Master's Division, it is once again Jacques Hubert's FRA 857- EOS team that dominated their classification taking 13th place in the final event to win handily. His team consisted of Adrien Popieul, Olivier Vancauwenberge, and Ludovic Willems.
