It's been a busy weekend for the 420 class with teams North of the Border
travelling to Loch Tummel for the RYA Scotland Spring Championships and a class
open coaching session held at the other end of the country, in Weymouth, as
teams get ready for the second class open event of the year, our Spring
Championships, and then the RYA Youth Championships also being sailed at
Weymouth.
The 'Springs' will take place at WPNSA next weekend and with 31 boats signed up
and this being the second of three selectors for the 2019 World Championship and
Junior European Championship teams you can bet there is going to be some fierce
competition on the water.
This weekend provided teams north and south of the border to get out on the
water and put all the winter learning into place, with the added bonus of
sunshine and for once relatively light winds. Granted the sunshine in
Scotland was tempered by the sight of snow on the nearby mountains but the
sight of sunshine brought plenty of smiles to the sailors, and their
supporters.
