Abersoch Sailing Club is a new sailing club set up by dinghy sailors for dinghy sailors, established in the summer of 2018. Our aim is to promote dinghy sailing in Abersoch and get people on the water enjoying sailing.
We operate for four weeks a year from late July to the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Our main racing program is based around weekends with the additions of Monday's junior race training (am) and junior race (pm) and the Wednesday mid-week race. We aim to keep out courses short and simple to encourage those who have not raced before to join in but also to provide competitive sailing for the more experienced.
If you are planning to come to Abersoch for a holiday in the summer why not bring your boat with you and join us. For membership details follow this link abersochsailingclub.org/membership
To keep the membership costs so low, ASC is run purely by volunteers. We are always looking for people to run the race management or help out on rescue boats so if you enjoy this side of sailing then we are more than welcoming. PB2 and Safety boat certification will be required for the patrol boats but keen and enthusiastic individuals young and old are very much welcome to join in on the race management side.
2018 was our first year and it has been very successful. There was good competitive racing and on short courses with competitive starts. The Junior training was very popular and it was great to see the improvement in those who took part. This is something that we intend to improve on next year so if you are interested please contact us as places will be limited.
For those who wish to be part of the club but not sail we have a social membership category. Our social calendar operates throughout the four week of the Summer, Easter, Christmas and New Year.
