by Peter Hayward 16 Apr 2013 18:03 NZST 9-10 & 14-21 September 2013

The official Notice of Race for the 2013 International 14 Class World Championships is now available from the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Go to the club's home page at www.rcyc.ca click on SAILING, REGATTAS, 2013 REGATTAS and scroll down to the [NOR] links:

14 Worlds: Team Racing Championship - Sept 9-10

The Team Racing Championship is open to national teams consisting of 4 registered boats of the International 14 Class. If a nation can field more than one team, please name each team in order (ie GBR1, GBR2). The Organising Authority may also accept team(s) from multiple nations (ie. European Union, PAC RIM, etc) where appropriate. The entry fee is CDN $500 per team and includes 8 tickets for the Team Race Banquet. Sailing Instructions for the Team Racing Championship will be available on September 8, 2013 at team racing measurement and inspection.

14 Worlds: Fleet Racing World Championship - Sept 14-21

The Fleet Racing World Championship is open to registered boats of the International 14 Class. Each entrant shall be a member in good standing of an International 14 National Class Association. The entry fee is CDN $800 per boat and includes 2 passes for all fleet racing social events (excluding the CDA Hall of Fame dinner for which tickets will be sold separately). The deadline for registration and entry is August 1, 2013. Late entries may be accepted after that date subject to an additional fee of CDN $100 per boat. Extra event tickets and/or fleet racing social passes will be available at registration.

Note: We're still working out a minor bug in the club's online registration and payment, but those links should also be working soon!

Socials and spectating

The program is designed to encourage spectators, racing enthusiasts, club members, past I-14ers and their families to join the fun. There are 17 social events planned over 14 days including the opening ceremonies after the RCYC Thursday night race on Sept 12th along with daily awards and entertainment in our new regatta centre on the dingy docks. There will be loads of spectator boats available, so we hope you will be able to join us! If not, we'll be launching a new regatta website in the next few weeks where you'll be able to follow all the developments throughout the event.
