Some of the very best dinghies around will once again be on display at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, from timeless classics to the very latest designs, all vying to be the best of the best and crowned winner of The Spitfire Premium Ale Concours d’Elegance.

Now in its third year, the judging team will be looking for the boat they consider to be the best presented at the show – old or new, classic or modern design. Which one do you think will win?

Past winners of the coveted trophy have been Mandy Mitchell with her GP 14 ‘Koru’ in 2009 and Stephen Beresford with his National Redwing, sail number R 249 in 2010.

Stephen Beresford who won last year’s trophy commented: “We were thrilled when we won the Concours d'Elegance trophy. It was a real confirmation of Good Wood Boats intent to build beautiful and eye catching classic racing dinghies that not only race successfully, but also win the admiration of others both on and off the water.”

To be eligible to win the trophy, the boat must be displayed by a class association and must have been sailed at least once. The panel of judges will visit all class association stands exhibiting at the show during Saturday 5 March 2011 with the winners’ trophy being presented to the owner of the winning boat during the Exhibitors Party on Saturday evening.

Special thanks go to Shepherd Neame who has kindly agreed to sponsor the competition again for 2011 and also for generously sponsoring the Exhibitors’ Party.

Why not come along to the show and see all the boats for yourself and choose your favourite!

The RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki, takes place at Alexandra Palace, London over the weekend of 5-6 March. For more information about what’s on at the show and to book your tickets visit www.dinghyshow.org.uk or call the ticket hotline on 0844 811 0409.
