After having to cancel the British Moth and CVRDA open meetings due to the July floods, Chippenham SCC decided to run a short notice substitute meeting over the August Bank Holiday weekend. With the CVRDA involved in their National Championships, the Sunday was turned into an All-Comers event, with the British Moths having Saturday to themselves.
Three visitors joined the home fleet for the weekend and duly took home most of the goodies. Reigning National Champion Rob Wilder took the honours on the Saturday despite the best efforts of Mark Bartlett (BM787) and Andrew Perrott (BM 791).
Mary Masters produced a memorable Chilli on Saturday evening and tents littered the boatpark
On the Sunday it was Mark Bartlett, Laura Honey (Frampton) and Roger Witts (Frampton) who did the winning, although the wine that was given as prizes did not last beyond the evening Barbeque.
Despite the meeting being organised at short notice it was well supported and the warm sunshine combined with light breezes made for and enjoyable and competitive weekend.
