Social distancing, the America's Cup, and the 2020 YOTY Awards (not) We need some light at the end of the tunnel, we really do. In the last few days we have seen the cancellation of the Youth America's Cup, the Singapore Yacht Show, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, and the Swan Rolex Cup.

Racing allowed, with restrictions Last weekend the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club was permitted to conduct racing in Victoria Harbour. The weekend before that, Aberdeen Boat Club went racing on the south side of Hong Kong.

Puerto Galera - the Port of the Galleons Every other year since 1977, Hong Kong offshore sailors have set out for San Fernando in La Union Province, Philippines. San Fernando was originally chosen as a destination because it was the nearest Port of Entry to Hong Kong.

Catching up with the week Equanimity is 300ft LOA, carries 28 crew, and is powered by two 4,828hp MTU diesels. She can carry 271,000 litres of fuel, and is built to ice class E, although probably won't be worrying about that too much at present
